NINE MONTHS!!!

So it's been 9 months since my last post. Clearly I'm a terrible blogger. It's been a wild and crazy year. Leaving the old job and finding a new one that I love. Rediscovering old friends and making new ones. A summer wasted by a crappy job working my man to death. My man finding the courage to leave his miserable job of 16 years for something new and good for him. A lot of things have been going on. Despite all the stress and heartache it's been a good year. A year of change. Something we've needed for a very long time. Since I've been so bad about posting I thought I should post some pictures of the goings on this last year.

New Furniture!

This is from IKEA, of course. I loved it in the catalog and thought it was perfect for our house. However, it was super expensive. Well it's a good thing we always check out the scratch and dent section, because we found this there with a tiny chunk taken out of the back of the cabinet. I love it! And I love even more that it was $200 off because of damage that no one will ever see!

Lots of meals, some good for us...and some not so good for us:

We ate at La Frontera WAY TOO MUCH.

Lots of Friends!

We have fabulous friends. And we had a lot of fun with them this year!

Lots of time with family!

And my new bike!

This is BB the Wonder Cruiser! I got her a little late in the summer so we didn't get to ride as much as I would have liked. But once Spring arrives she'll be getting out a lot. I can't wait.

Also, I'm a quilter now! I've been taking a monthly class with some friends and i love it. We're totally just winging it. But that has made it a lot of fun and we're getting there. I'm still knitting and scrapping, but haven't been doing them as much since we started quilting.
So there you go! 9 months of posts all in one!

Shopping Shopping Shopping

Abbey and I LOVE to shop. We do quite a bit of it together. Today we we're going to check out the sale at Soul Spun Yarn, but we quickly found out they're closed on Sundays. So, because I knew the weather was going to be crappy*, I suggested we drive to the outlet mall in Park City. We didn't go to a ton of stores, but we did get some screamin' deals. Sunglasses were buy one pair get the second half off from Fossil (be sure to ask Abbey about her movie star glasses with all the bling). Perfume from the Gap at a great price. And coats for everyone at INCREDIBLE prices at Columbia. You would not believe the prices on these coats (it's worth the trip to Park City for the prices on these coats, you really need to check them out).

Now, I know this is a terrible to say, but this shitty economy is making for some excellent shopping. The sales at stores these days are unbelievable and I can't seem to pass them up. So I guess I'm doing my part to help the economy!

*Abbey and I have some weird luck when we decide to go on mini road trips. Any time we want to leave the Salt Lake valley to go to the UC or Park City it's usually TERRIBLE weather. For some reason we always decide to head out at the worst possible time. You wouldn't believe the snow storms we've been caught in because we decided to go to a scrapbookin' store in Provo!

Thanks Betty

I just read on A Gluten-Free Guide that Betty Crocker will soon offer gluten-free cake and cookie mixes. It's refreshing to see larger companies making the leap to offer something for us gluten-haters. I used to be quite the baker, but when I became gluten-free I lost my knack for it. I know using mixes can be the cheaters way of baking, but when you need a quick cake it's a life saver. I'm looking forward to trying the mixes. Looks like they should be available in June. Thanks to General Mills and Betty Crocker!

The Holidays at our House

Every year there is a small Christmas controversy at our house. Rich wants us to put up the fake tree he got on sale at Kmart ($6, he's very proud of that), but I want a real tree. Rich grew up having fake trees and thinks their great, and I'm sure they are. But I grew up with real Christmas trees. And if you had to choose between some dusty, fake, plastic tree...or this lovely tree, which would you pick??

That's right!! You'd pick this tree! How could you not...it's gorgeous!
Maybe next year we'll put the Kmart tree. Maybe.
